Dhikrni

The right adhkar for the moment, with its source, in a calm reading experience.

The source is part of the content, not an info icon.

Type
Adhkar app
Role
Research, design, prototyping
Platform
Mobile app
Status
Prototype
Problem
Adhkar are usually shown as long, similar lists, so people search before they start.
My part
Research, design and an interactive prototype.
Key decision
Access by situation, with the source visible inside the reading, not behind an icon.
Evidence
A testable interactive prototype.
Result
Not yet tested with users; the test questions are set out in the study.

The challenge

Reaching the right adhkar shouldn’t need a long search.

Many adhkar apps show content as long, similar lists. I wanted to organise it around everyday situations while keeping each text and source intact. (This describes the design problem as observed in existing apps, not a field-research finding.)

Principles

Three principles guided the design.

  • 01

    Access by situation

Adhkar for the time or need, without long lists.

  • 02

    Source as content

The source sits inside the reading, not behind an icon.

  • 03

    Undistracted reading

    Text first, secondary elements receded.

Trust

The source appears with every adhkar.

The source line sits right under the text in the same card, followed by the virtue exactly as in the reference, not paraphrased.

Reminders

A reminder at the time that suits you.

Reminder times are set per wird and can be switched off entirely without affecting access to content.

End of session

A quiet end, no points, no competition.

After completing: a simple confirmation and two options. The aim is respectful continuity, not turning worship into a rewards system.

Identity

A quiet interface that leaves room for the text.

Outcome

A testable prototype, with questions still open.

A situation-based structure, the source inside reading, a focus mode, and an interactive prototype.

Delivered

  • Situation-based structure
  • Source in reading
  • Reading & focus mode

Still open

Needs testing: source-line clarity while reading, and whether the situation entry actually shortens time-to-content.

Source note: Research details (method, participants, observations) are blank in the original case study, so they’re not shown.
